Follow Friday #28

Happy Friday everyone!
Yes, it’s that time of week again where bloggers unite to participate in the Follow Friday venture. The idea behind #FF is to promote traffic to your own blog, make new friends with other like-minded bloggers and discuss new and interesting topics each week.
Participating is simple. First you need to follow my blog because I’m totally awesome, then you can follow me on Twitter @kristyberridge (actually you don’t have to do this, it’s wishful thinking), but do follow my blog or assassins will get you …
Then you must follow our illustrious hosts Rachel of http://www.parajunkee.com/ and Alison of http://www.alisoncanread.com/ If you want more details on how to enter your own blog in the follow and hop, all directions are on their webpages
Now, once you’ve followed, check out my answer to this week’s questions and don’t forget to leave a comment so I can do the right thing and follow you back!

This week's question: What is the one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaptation of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

My answer: Well, ironically the book I really enjoyed that has already been made into a film sometime back in the late eighties or early nineties was 'The Power of One' by Bryce Courtenay. Unfortunately this is an epic novel, a touching story a mile outside of my usual reading genre that the movie just didn't do justice to. For one, the book is over 1000 pages with a particularly deep story-line. The movie barely even got through the first third of the book. It would be great if someone could re-make the movie, but that will probably never happen.

  1. Yeah I agree- it's weird when film-makers choose such long books to adapt. That was why I picked 'Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell'!

Lovely answer! I haven't read The Power of One yet nor seen the film but wow over 1000 pages that's a lot! Loved your review of Ember by the way.
