Happy Friday everyone!
Yes, it’s that time of week again where bloggers unite to participate in the Follow Friday venture. The idea behind #FF is to promote traffic to your own blog, make new friends with other like-minded bloggers and discuss new and interesting topics each week.
Participating is simple. First you need to follow my blog because I’m totally awesome, then you can follow me on Twitter @kristyberridge (actually you don’t have to do this, it’s wishful thinking), but do follow my blog or assassins will get you …
Then you must follow our illustrious hosts Rachel of http://www.parajunkee.com/ and Alison of http://www.alisoncanread.com/ If you want more details on how to enter your own blog in the follow and hop, all directions are on their webpages
Now, once you’ve followed, check out my answer to this week’s questions and don’t forget to leave a comment so I can do the right thing and follow you back! This Week's Question: What is the longest book you've read? What are your favourite 600+ page reads?
Answer: The longest book I have ever read was 'The Power of One' by Bryce Courtenay, followed by 'Tandia', the continuation of this book. These were the first two books that I've ever really read outside of my favourite genre - supernatural fiction.
Honestly, I fell in love with this story, crying my eyes out when I reached the climax of Tandia and knowing the characters so thoroughly that I could almost picture them as real people. Bryce Courtenay painted such a vivid picture with his words that I found myself enraptured by this story that follows the life of one seriously amazing child into adulthood. The suffering, the success, the anguish and the pride were on every page. I will NEVER forget these books.
Anyway, I love big books! It keeps the story going and going and it means I don't have to say goodbye to such a good page turner too soon!
Happy Friday Everyone!
Kristy :)
I've never heard of The Power of One or Tandia. They're outside of my reading comfort zone too but they do sound like quite the epic!
ReplyDeleteOld GFC follower, new Twitter follower. My FF.
Haven't heard of that one! I have a classic choice and a "modern" classic! Still the classic rules out as being the longest book I ever read!

Hopping through. I'm not familiar with Bryce Cortenay. I'll have to look up his books.
