Look out faithful followers, today I have none other than the up and coming star William Granville, here to talk to me about his starring role in my book - The Hunted (no, this is not weird).
So sit back and get your fill of one of the sexiest vampires to hit books in years! He'll be answering a few of your burning questions while undoubtedly not giving too much away about the upcoming release - The Damned.
What was your most memorable moment while making The Hunted?
Truthfully? Meeting Elena. I've never met anyone like her. She's brazen, beautiful, confident, and dare I say it, cocky? *laughs quietly to himself*
So you've grown quite close to Elena over recent months?
She would vehemently deny this, but yes, we're currently seeing one another.
Was it difficult to pursue a relationship in light of your eagerness to hunt the Alpha werewolf escapee from London, as well as uncover the cause of the kidnappings?
The werewolves did keep us on our toes, I'm not going to lie. There were times when I thought I'd never find the alpha, never uncover his main agenda. But there was also the space in between. As you can imagine a vampire has plenty of time on their hands when there's no real need for sleep. So in these moments I pursued, pursued, pursued - much to Elena's annoyance. *laughs again, shaking his head* I think I won her over, though.
Do you enjoy being a vampire?
I'm grateful for my strength and finely honed senses, but no. I never wanted to be a vampire, but being born one I guess I never really had the choice. Vampirism appeals to many of my kin - the speed, strength and immortality. But everyone forgets about the blood drinking, the way your insides burn when you hunger, when even your closest friend or your ... family could become a meal should you ignore the thirst.
I sense a story here ...
I don't want to talk about it. Let's just say that I'm glad Synth Corp was established. Synthetic animal plasmas make it easier for me to live with myself.
(I decided on a subject change here. He kept glaring at me, making me feel pretty damn bad about even hinting about his past. I decided to also skip questions about his old coven leader Lucius and his time spent in the Roman Guard. His eyes went from emerald green to black when I mentioned Lucius's name. You'' just have to read The Damned to understand better)
So ... What are your thoughts on The Protectors?
I have a great deal of respect for the magic they wield and the idea behind the Institute of Magical Intervention's methods. Their main priority is to protect the human race from the likes of me - I can't fault them on that. *He shrugs* That doesn't necessarily mean I trust them.
Speaking of trust, I noticed you didn't tell Elena about the angel Araqiel ...
What is there to tell? He thinks she belongs in the arms of someone I despise, and I think he should stay out of it. Who can better protect Elena than me? Who knows Elena better than I do?
I heard on the Grapevine that Elena is heading to Bucharest?
Not my idea, but Elena can't be dissuaded when she makes up her mind. Of course, I'll follow her there, but it won't be easy. At least I know that werewolves will not attack her at the IMI (Institute of Magical intervention) headquarters, but I also worry about their agenda - after all, Elena's no ordinary teenage girl.
Will we find out what happens in The Damned?
Of course. I doubt people are going to be impressed if you leave them hanging, Kristy. But, I can say there are a few twists and turns, some of them I'm not overly happy about. *glares at me again* Did you have to write Him into the story?
You know exactly who I'm talking about.
So, just to top off the interview, how about a few quick questions?
Favourite colour: Black (I didn't have the balls to correct him and tell him that black wasn't a colour)
Favourite song: I've been partial to the Rolling Stones since the early sixties.
Favourite movie: I prefer to read.
Favourite book: The Hunted, naturally. (Thanks for the plug, William)
Favourite holiday destination: I've never had a holiday, I'm always hunting, but I once crossed the Arctic chasing werewolves and I saw the northern lights. It was so wonderful to see something that spectacular occurring at night.
Who would you love to ... you know: Besides Elena? Definitely Kate Beckinsale. Thomas persuaded me to sit and watch this movie once called 'Underworld'. Have you heard of it? Anyway, let's just say, beyond fiction, that's one vampire I'd like to meet.
Well, that's all of William's time I could take up. He said something about being hungry, and let's face it, holding him up while he was already a bit cranky pants for bringing in another major character into The Damned just made him continue to stare unabashedly at my throbbing veins. Needless to say I slapped a baggie of Synth blood into his hands and told him to pipe down - I'm the writer.
(I didn't really. I apologised profusely and promised I'd make it up to him. I'm such a pussy.)
Anyway, so stay tuned. I'll post another interview soon, depending on who can make some time for me now that they're all big celebrities *rolls eyes*, perhaps even get one of them to actually pose for a photo.
Catch you all soon
